Job summary

Advanced Navigation America in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QMS for our U.S. operations. You will implement ISO-9001 and AS9100, ensure ITAR/EAR compliance, and align engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain around quality.

You will drive CAPA, audits, supplier quality, metrology, and KPI reporting while mentoring a small team and collaborating with executives to sustain a world-class aerospace quality program.

Qualifications

• Citizenship & Security: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal Secret Security Clearance to support ITAR/EAR defense manufacturing.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive quality assurance experience in the aerospace or defense industry, with direct experience in electronics assemblies.
• Standard Expertise: AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR/EAR regulations, and defense compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Stand up, maintain, and continuously improve a QMS (ISO-9001 and AS9100) including initial AS9100 certification.
• Maintain configuration management compliant with U.S. aerospace regulations (ITAR, EAR, export controls, DoD requirements).
• Lead internal and external audits (AS9100, ISO-9001, customer, vendor, regulatory).
• Develop CAPA processes and root-cause methodologies (5 Whys, FMEA, Fishbone, Six Sigma).
• Integrate QA standards into all product lifecycle phases (design, manufacturing, electronics assembly, testing).
• Direct supplier quality programs, including vendor qualifications and scorecards.
• Establish KPIs and deliver QMS reports to leadership.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve non-conformances.
