Job summary

Sierra Space seeks a Director of Quality Assurance to define and execute a company-wide quality vision, ensuring world-class product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction across the business. You will lead enterprise quality initiatives, influence senior leadership, and build scalable systems for growth in the aerospace sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.
• Deep knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, GxP), and industry standards.
• Strong communication and influence with leadership, regulators, auditors, and stakeholders.
• Experience leading QA functions including product release, deviation/CAPA, change control, validation, and audits.
• Experience with risk management, quality investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Travel: 20–40% as required across locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term quality strategy aligned with objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as quality authority to executive leadership.
• Champion a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead audits and compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, DoD and customer requirements.
• Drive Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement across the enterprise.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization.
