Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure aerospace products and processes meet customer requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards. You will partner across quality, engineering, operations, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and investigate issues.

This role requires reading engineering drawings, applying QMS tools, and leading root-cause analysis. On-site in Phoenix, 2nd shift, with opportunities to contribute to process validation and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer and regulatory requirements; follow internal quality procedures.
• Lead investigations of nonconforming material, customer escapes, and quality system issues using structured problem-solving methods (8D, RCCA, Five Why).
• Develop, maintain, and improve inspection plans, control plans, quality procedures, and work instructions.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 requirements.
• Analyze quality performance data and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and close audit findings.
• Monitor key quality metrics (scrap, rework, yield, complaints, process performance).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in process validation activities, production readiness reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to establish/verifiy quality standards.
• Develop inspection methods and quality controls to ensure product conformity.
• Prepare reports and present findings on quality performance and improvements.
