Job summary
Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Proposals Engineer to lead the technical development, estimating, and proposal process for automated equipment upgrades and modifications. You will partner with Sales and Service to translate customer requirements into defined, executable, and commercially competitive solutions.
This role coordinates Engineering, Estimating, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to craft the technical scope, manufacturing approach, and proposal documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work history.
- 5+ years in controls engineering or proposal development with aerospace/automated solutions experience.
- Demonstrated experience with customer interaction and interface.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical, customer-facing representative with the customer to define deliverables for the proposal.
- Understand industrial controls architecture (PLCs, CNC, field bus, drives) to develop efficient solutions.
- Develop and implement methodologies for commonality of parts and operations across the solution.
- Create upgrade/modification strategies from limited inputs, requirements, and drawings.
- Translate requirements into cost estimates including materials, labor, and risk analyses.
