Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Service and Controls Estimator to prepare, coordinate, and deliver accurate cost estimates, quotations, and proposals for equipment upgrades, repairs, preventive maintenance, and aftermarket service. You will collaborate with engineering, service, procurement, and sales to ensure technically sound, competitive proposals delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in estimating or related technical role within manufacturing or industrial automation.
• Experience with industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion control, robotics, and electrical control panels.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs, and customer specs.
• Strong understanding of labor estimating, cost analysis, and quotation development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP/CRM systems, and estimating software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple quotations while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, specs, drawings, and service requests to develop complete cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed proposals for field service, maintenance, upgrades, retrofits, and controls modifications.
• Develop scopes of work defining deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, and terms.
• Estimate labor hours, materials, subcontractors, travel, and equipment needs.
• Coordinate with engineering, service, procurement, and manufacturing teams to validate solutions and pricing.
• Work with Sales to ensure competitive, technically sound quotations delivered on time.
• Identify risks during estimating and report findings to management.
• Maintain estimating tools, pricing databases, labor standards, and templates.
• Support customer meetings and site visits for information gathering.
• Assist with proposal documentation, revisions, and post-award handoffs.
• Support service invoicing and aftermarket sales activities as needed.
• Maintain CRM records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
