Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer in the United States (California, Brea) to own the development and launch of plastic fastening solutions for aircraft interiors. You will lead NPI projects end-to-end, serve as the technical face to customers, and work hands-on with tooling and injection molding while driving cross-functional teams to milestones.

The role requires a bachelor's in mechanical/industrial/aerospace engineering, 3+ years in product development and manufacturing, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development and manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with injection molded plastic components.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Ability to create and interpret 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own NPI Projects End-to-End: Lead new product introduction from concept through production launch. Develop project plans, schedules, and technical deliverables — and drive them across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain without losing momentum.
• Be the Technical Face to Customers: Serve as the primary engineering contact throughout product development and production support. You'll attend design reviews, present solutions, and earn customer confidence every step of the way.
• Get Hands-On with Tooling & Injection Molding: Define mold tooling requirements, collaborate with toolmakers on design and validation, review mold flow analyses, and support process optimization and production qualification.
• Build & Maintain World-Class Documentation: Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, test plans, and compliance packages that meet rigorous aerospace standards and customer specifications.
• Solve Problems That Matter: Investigate and resolve manufacturing and quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
