Job summary

Canopy A&D in Irvine, CA is seeking a full-time on-site Project Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle of complex thermal protection systems and aerospace hardware. You will bridge the PMO and Production, drive bottleneck resolution, and ensure on-time delivery for defense and space applications.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams, manage ERP data integrity, provide dashboards and KPIs, and travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years PM experience in aerospace/defense or advanced materials industries
• Experience with ERP systems and customer portals, ensuring milestones/delivery dates align with shop floor status
• Technical familiarity with TPS/launch vehicles or advanced aerospace materials
• Proficient in MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Excel for planning and reporting
• Experience in risk management and KPIs with recovery plan execution
• Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration with internal/external partners
• Willingness to travel and obtain/maintain security clearance

Responsibilities

• Align cross-functional teams on program goals, timelines, and deliverables from concept through production
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks to maintain cost and schedule adherence
• Expedite jobs through shop floor and internal centers to prevent delays
• Bridge PMO and Production to obtain recovery dates and real-time schedules
• Mitigate program risks with data-driven contingencies and performance tracking
• Manage unreleased/hold lists to keep production moving
• Track progress and backlog using project management tools and dashboards
• Ensure ERP data integrity to match production status
• Provide dashboards, KPIs, and program health metrics for leadership and customers
• Maintain customer portals to support on-time delivery and address delays
• Communicate technical context clearly to stakeholders and partners
• Prepare Open Order Reports with documentation and timelines
• Support engineering and manufacturing execution as needed; travel to sites as required
