Moog Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA is seeking a Production Painter (A) for 1st shift. Responsibilities include surface prep, masking, primer/paint mixing, and applying coatings to military and industrial parts. Requires blueprint reading, paint application experience, and FAA safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED preferred.
• 3+ years in a related industry.
• Conventional paint application experience.
• Basic/Intermediate computer skills.
• Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding, blasting, cleaning and masking.
• Clean components before painting.
• Prepare paint and primer by mixing on shaker mixer.
• Determine primer and paint to be used by reading work instructions.
• Apply primers and paints usually by spray gun.
• Paint a wide variety of component parts for military and industrial assemblies.
• Mask parts before painting and verify paint thickness requirements.
• Interface with production and methods engineering for fixtures and processes.
• Log all activity including paint mix details and cure cycles.
• Inspect surfaces for thickness and adhesion characteristics.
