Job summary

RTX is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Producibility Engineer I to support manufacturability, assembly, and transition-to-production for defense and aerospace products in Tucson, AZ. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to optimize designs for robust, high-yield production.

This role offers hands-on experience in engineering and manufacturing, with opportunities to influence cost reduction and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related STEM field.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and models.
• Knowledge of DFM or DFA principles.

Responsibilities

• Partner with design engineering to meet manufacturing, assembly, and integration requirements.
• Conduct producibility assessments, design reviews, and risk identification early in development.
• Review drawings and specs for clarity, compliance, and manufacturability.
• Perform process capability evaluations and tolerance analyses.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve yield, and streamline fabrication.
• Collaborate with suppliers to validate tooling concepts and work instructions.
• Support transition-to-production activities and first article inspections.
• Maintain documentation in engineering and manufacturing systems.
