Job summary

GMRE in Utah is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Specialist to plan and execute purchases for defense and aerospace programs. You will own assigned purchases from requisition through receipt, balancing cost, schedule, quality, and compliance while working with cross-functional teams.

The role requires ERP/MRP proficiency, strong negotiation skills, and experience with government contracting standards. The position emphasizes audit-ready files, supplier coordination, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Three+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Aerospace/defense experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience considered.
• FAR/DFARS/DPAS/ITAR knowledge preferred.
• ERP/MRP data analysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions, BOMs, drawings, and revisions before placing orders.
• Prepare RFIs/Quotations and evaluate supplier responses.
• Negotiate price, lead time, terms, and MOQs for best value.
• Create and manage purchase orders in ERP/MRP with correct clauses.
• Manage full PO lifecycle from acknowledgement to closeout.
• Maintain accurate promise dates to support production schedules.
• Source aerospace interconnect materials and related components.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve part-number issues.
