Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years experience or equivalent in related education/job experience.
• Strong knowledge of procurement of build-to-print components including aerospace processes and outside processing.
• Understanding of MRP/MRPII operations and order policies; familiarity with business conditions and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements procurement plan for assigned components per program requirements.
• Negotiates price relative to immediate and future needs and order quantities.
• Negotiates vendor price increases and reschedules.
• Identifies potential sources of supply based on processes and vendor capabilities.
• Drives cost-reduction by leveraging engineering and manufacturing insights.
• Interfaces with other departments to resolve problems in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or payable areas.
• Interviews supplier personnel regarding products, services, and issues.
• Monitors vendor performance on contracts for delivery and pricing.
• Maintains professional relations with suppliers and projects a positive company image.
• Supports and guides team members on purchasing issues and training.
• Maintains reports on procurement processes including cost and reliability.
