Job summary

Amphenol Aerospace operates a state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY seeking a Process Technician to support machining departments, including setup, start-up, operation and troubleshooting of CNC and conventional machines. Responsibilities include program creation for new products, maintaining DNC with proven programs, training operators, and driving continuous improvement, quality support, and cost reduction initiatives.

Travel domestic or overseas possible.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of machining experience.
• Knowledge of Programming CNC machines and some Conventional experience.
• Proficient with setup and operation of conventional and CNC machines to produce aluminum and steel parts.
• Familiar with technical drawings and precision measurement devices.
• Knowledge of MS Office programs.
• Must be able to multitask and lead teams.
• Participate in projects for all aspects of the connector business.
• Confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• Use of a computer from 1 to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Possible travel domestic or overseas.

Responsibilities

• Daily Manufacturing floor support.
• Creation of programs for new products.
• Maintain DNC with proven, best practice programs.
• Provide training for Operators to run good quality parts.
• Support initiatives and training for corrective actions.
• Quality and technical support to internal and external customers.
• Continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
• Process troubleshooting to ensure quality product is machined.
• Complete initial set up of jobs on varying machines.
