Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. seeks a Process Improvement Engineer for Aerospace Manufacturing to drive safety, quality and productivity improvements.

You will work on-site at the Huntsville, AL facility reporting to the Development Engineering Manager and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include eliminating barriers, optimizing processes, tracking metrics, and implementing World Class Manufacturing practices to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or greater in Engineering or scientific discipline required.
5+ years of experience in engineering or equivalent environment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to work with floor level operators and cross-functional teams to drive positive change.

Responsibilities

Drive improvement and maximize productivity in one or more work cells.
Serve as technical resource for production; support day-to-day operations.
Improve product quality, increase capacity, reduce variation and setup times.
Track production metrics and use data to identify opportunities.
Collaborate with quality, design engineering, NPD, safety, analytical lab, operators and other engineers to resolve problems.
