Job summary

CMI Group – Systems 3 in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Precision Deburr & Hand Finishing Technician to perform precision deburring, edge breaking, surface finishing, and cosmetic blending on complex aerospace components. You will use pneumatic and electric tools, abrasives, and micro-blasting equipment to protect critical dimensions and surface finishes while meeting customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of precision deburring or hand finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprint notes, deburr sketches, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience using pneumatic, electric, and manual deburring tools.
• Working knowledge of abrasives, carbide burrs, polishing media, brushes, stones, and finishing techniques for aerospace materials.
• Ability to recognize burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, and cosmetic defects while preserving dimensional requirements.
• Strong manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, edge break, radius, blend, polish, and hand finish precision-machined aerospace components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, deburr sketches, and manufacturing notes.
• Remove machining burrs while maintaining dimensional integrity and specified finishes.
• Operate pneumatic, electric, and hand-held deburring tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and complete required manufacturing documentation.
• Identify defects and communicate issues to Quality and Manufacturing personnel.
