Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Plater/ Chemical Processing Technician for a Clearwater, FL metal finishing manufacturer. The role supports chrome conversion coating, various plating lines, and surface prep in a fast-growing aerospace environment.

Typical hours are 5:00 am–3:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with full-time, temporary-to-hire status. Benefits include weekly pay and health coverage options; physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in metal finishing, plating, anodizing, passivation, or chemical processing.
• Direct experience with chromate conversion coatings (Chem Film/Alodine).
• Understanding of metal preparation and surface treatment techniques.
• Knowledge of NADCAP or AS9100 quality environments.
• Able to read and follow written work instructions and specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Comfort working with chemical solutions and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform chromate conversion coating processes on aluminum and other metals.
• Process parts through plating lines (nickel, zinc, tin, cadmium).
• Prepare surfaces via cleaning, etching, rinsing, masking, and pre-treatment.
• Monitor chemical baths, temperature, concentration, pH, and immersion times.
• Follow detailed work instructions and customer specifications.
• Load/unload parts on racks and fixtures for processing.
• Conduct visual inspections to verify coating quality.
