Job summary

Blue Origin Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced Weld Engineer/Technician specialized in GTAW welding to support manufacturing and quality across the production line. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, developing weld schedules, and upholding AWS D17.1 Class A standards, with opportunities to mentor others and work on automated welding systems.

Requires 7+ years of experience and readiness for 2nd shift and overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; able to read engineering drawings.
• Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
• 7+ years of GTAW welding experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Able to author/develop weld schedules meeting AWS D17.1 Class A inspections requirements.
• Familiar with NDT and quality policies.
• Experience with automated welding equipment.
• Hand tools and precision measuring equipment proficiency.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Must pass a Weld Test (1F, 3F, 2G, 3G, 6G).
