Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Van Horn, TX is seeking an experienced Welder to support the development of complex test infrastructure and launch vehicle assemblies. The role involves welding aluminum and steel components, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring high-quality welds through NDT and rigorous inspection processes.

The position requires 7+ years of GTAW welding in manufacturing, familiarity with automated welding equipment, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints and technical work instructions.
• Author/develop weld schedules meeting AWS D17.1 Class A inspections requirements.
• Experience with all types of Non-Destructive Testing and quality policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs welding on aluminum, steel, and alloys to specified tolerances; prepares surfaces for welding and NDE.
• Joins metal parts to form permanent bonds per drawings and specs.
• Sets up and operates machines to perform friction stir welds on launch vehicles; conducts periodic maintenance.
• Uses precision measuring tools to verify welds and part conformance.
