Job summary

Amca is seeking a PCB Designer to join the Electrical Team in El Segundo, CA. You will lay out PCBs from schematics, review designs with electrical engineers, and ensure boards survive harsh aerospace environments.

You will own libraries, collaborate with vendors, ensure IPC Class 3 compliance, perform DFM reviews, and mentor teammates on tools like Altium, KiCad, and 3D models to enable flight-ready production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• 2+ years in electronics hardware design (academic or professional).
• 2+ years using electronic test equipment to verify hardware.
• Experience managing component libraries with symbols/footprints/3D models.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout experience; Altium proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and update schematics for compilation requirements with engineers.
• Determine layer stackup, component placement, and routing feasibility across analog/digital/RF.
• Layout PCBs for harsh environments and interface with manufacturing for DFM.
• Own PCB libraries, 3D models, and metadata for production use.
• Collaborate with vendors to confirm part specs and manufacturability.
• Create documentation for PCB fabrication and support design-for-test.
