Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a painter helper to assist the painting process in a high-temperature aerospace shop in Lynwood, CA. You will prep parts, sand surfaces, and support the painter with priming and topcoat applications.

Role requires basic aerospace processing experience, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to handle hazardous materials and maintain accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 6 months processing aerospace experience preferred.
• Must be able to work in a hot shop environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Painter in daily activities not involving actual spraying of paint.
• Prepare parts by hand sanding and solvent cleaning.
• Mix primers and topcoats (chromated and non-chromated).
• Layout parts and maneuver for paint application.
• Complete work orders and paperwork during paint process.
• Document and monitor oven charts and temperatures.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Handle hazardous materials per state and federal regulations.
• Set up and label hazardous waste storage boxes.
