Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a dedicated General Painter's Assistant to join the 1st shift in Lynwood, CA. This full-time role supports the painting process, preps parts, and assists the painter on the shop floor.

You will hand-sand parts, perform solvent cleaning, and help prepare primers and topcoats. The job requires attention to safety, PPE usage, and accurate paperwork and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months processing aerospace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the painter in daily activities not involving actual spraying of paint.
• Prepare parts by hand sanding and solvent cleaning.
• Mix primers and topcoats for painting.
• Lay parts out and maneuver for paint application.
• Complete work orders and necessary paperwork during the paint process.
• Document oven charts and temperatures accurately.
• Observe safety regulations and wear PPE (safety glasses).
• Manage hazardous materials per state and federal rules.
• Set up and label hazardous waste storage boxes.
• Other duties as assigned.
