Redwire Defense Tech is seeking a Packaging Engineer to develop, test, and optimize packaging for UAV components and mission-critical subsystems. The role emphasizes an industrial-design mindset balancing protection with presentation, ensuring ready-to-ship packaging for diverse environments.

You will collaborate with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to integrate packaging into production, create BOMs, and support supplier qualification for packaging materials.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years packaging design experience (aerospace/defense preferred).
• Experience with packaging presentation and producing high-quality visuals.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or NX.
• Knowledge of ISTA, ASTM or MIL-STD testing standards.
• Strong cushioning, shock/vibration mitigation, and protective case engineering knowledge.
• Effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong documentation and project-management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop packaging concepts elevating presentation and usability (unboxing flow, labeling hierarchy).
• Own packaging graphics and create professional materials including renderings and mockups.
• Engineer durable and cost-effective packaging for UAV components and subsystems.
• Translate CAD models into complete packaging designs, drawings, and specs.
• Conduct validation testing per ISTA/ASTM/MIL-STD guidelines.
• Ensure packaging meets durability for global/expeditionary deployment.
