Job summary

Hytek Finishes in Kent, WA is seeking an Aerospace Packager on the 3rd shift to package parts that have been processed through plating and other departments for shipping to customers.

Responsibilities include following technique cards, POs and drawings, signing off on completed work, and maintaining QA standards. Must be able to lift up to 114 lbs, operate a forklift, and work safely in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to read and write in English to communicate with coworkers and auditors.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; export license may be required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with experienced Packagers to complete tasks and prioritize on‑time delivery.
  • Follow technique cards, customer POs and drawings; follow instructions from senior Packagers.
  • Perform Part Mark activities as required.
  • Develop and understand technique cards and sign off when completed.
  • Review paperwork and perform Operator Self Verification; notify supervisor/QA of errors.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Know pre/post cleaning surface finish requirements and QA procedures.
  • Understand engineering drawing notations and safety precautions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.

Job Overview

Title: Aerospace Packager

Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager

Location: Kent, WA – onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: 3rd Shift, Training on 1st Shift

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Salary Range for position: $ 19.60 - $ 21.10.

The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position Summary

Employees in this position will package a variety of parts that have been processed through our plating and other departments in preparation for shipping to our customers. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

* FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with experienced Packagers to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
  • Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Packagers.
  • Perform Part Mark activities as required.
  • Develop and understand technique cards.
  • Legibly sign off on work once completed.
  • General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Operate Forklift as required.
  • Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures.
  • Be familiar with engineering drawing notations.
  • Be familiar with the safety precautions & know how to avoid injury to personnel.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Be involved in Kaizen events as needed either as a participant or supporter.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
Education & Experience
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.

Work Environment
  • Hearing protection required in certain areas.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
  • PPE required: safety glasses/goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, respirator (provided by company).
