Hytek Finishes seeks an Aerospace Shot Peen Inspector for the 3rd shift in Kent, WA. This entry-level role trains on 1st shift, with on-site work and full benefits. Expect to learn to peen and inspect parts per spec, and to pass certification exams while joining the FAA DOT testing program.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced inspectors to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Follow shop traveler, technique card, POs and supervisor instructions.
• Review paperwork to ensure completion and notify QA of errors.
• Prepare parts prior to operations, including cleaning.
• Meet pre/post cleaning and surface finish requirements.
• Follow QA requirements and safety procedures.

Aerospace Shot Peen Inspector - 3rd Shift

Job Overview

Title: Aerospace Shot Peen Inspector

Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager

Location: Kent, WA – onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: 3rd Shift; Training on 1st Shift

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Salary Range for position: $ 22.10 – 31.10. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position Summary

Employees in this position shot peen and glass bead peen parts, including automated, manual and I.D. peening and inspection in preparation for plating and other coatings. The individual in this role will be considered a trainee and are required to pass a written and practical examination for certification and an initial and annual Industrial Eye Exam in order to process work independently in the department. On the job training is provided and trainees are given ample time to prepare for certification exams. Shot Peen Inspectors are required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. The Shot Peen Inspectors perform operations in accordance with Military, Industry and OEM specifications.

* FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with experienced Shot Peen Inspectors to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Learn to follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Shot Peen Inspectors.
• Learn general review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
• Learn to prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
• Learn to perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
• Learn to follow Quality Assurance requirements.
• Must follow safety precautions as trained.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
• Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.

Education & Experience

• 1-2 years in an aerospace production and/or similar manufacturing environment a plus.
