Job summary

Electro-Methods, Inc., a Stronvar Aerospace company, in South Windsor, CT, is seeking a proactive Buyer - Outside Services to source, procure, and coordinate outsourced manufacturing and related services for aerospace production.

The role covers supplier sourcing, RFQ analysis, negotiations, PO placement, and end-to-end order fulfillment to support on-time delivery, cost competitiveness, and quality. Strong communication and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, supplier management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of purchasing practices, supplier negotiations, order fulfillment, and contract administration.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience working with ERP or material requirements planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify outside service providers meeting aerospace requirements.
• Develop and maintain a network of approved suppliers for machining, special processing, testing, inspection, and related services.
• Solicit RFQs, analyze proposals, and recommend sourcing decisions based on cost, quality and lead time.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms, and long‑term sourcing arrangements.
• Monitor supplier performance and support supplier development, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for outsourced services and ensure accurate specifications.
