Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on the 1st shift in Marina, CA. The role covers inspections of composite and metallic aircraft parts, using UT, CT, PT, and ET modalities.

You will calibrate equipment, interpret data, and document findings while ensuring compliance with FAA and NADCAP standards. Applicants should have NAS 410-aligned training or 2+ years of practical NDT experience, with proficiency in ERP/MES and NDT software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of practical NDT inspection experience or NAS 410 aligned training.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and material specs.
• Familiarity with NAS 410, ASNT, ASTM standards.
• Proficiency with ERP/MES and NDT software tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-destructive evaluations on composites, metals, and additively manufactured parts using UT, CT, PT, or ET.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment and CT/X-ray scanning systems.
• Interpret scanning data and compare with engineering drawings and acceptance criteria.
• Document inspection results and generate MRB tags for nonconforming parts.
• Collaborate with NDT Engineers and shop teams to support technique development and root-cause investigations.
• Ensure compliance with FAA requirements, QMS procedures, NADCAP and NAS 410 practices.
