Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Quality Inspector II – NDT in Long Beach, CA to ensure the integrity of components through penetrant and visual inspections. You will collaborate with engineering and production to refine SOPs, acceptance criteria, and inspection processes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of aerospace NDT experience, hands-on PT/VT inspection, and certifications (AWS CWI and NAS 410/ASNT Level I/II).

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in aviation, aerospace, or a similar industry.
Hands-on experience performing PT and VT inspection in aerospace.
Experience inspecting advanced materials such as aluminum alloys, titanium, and nickel-based alloys.
Working knowledge of AS, AMS, AWS, NAS, ASME, and ASTM standards.
High school diploma or GED.
AWS CWI and NAS 410/ASNT Level I/II in PT and VT are required.

Responsibilities

Partner with engineering, production, and manufacturing teams to develop and improve NDT processes, acceptance criteria, and SOPs.
Coordinate daily activities of the NDT team to keep inspection operations efficient and effective.
Perform and evaluate advanced penetrant (PT) and visual (VT) inspections on components, assemblies, and welds.
Apply NDT techniques to complex geometries and advanced materials.
Support R&D for qualification and certification of critical processes.
Ensure inspections comply with AS, AMS, AWS, NAS, ASME, and ASTM standards.
Maintain accurate inspection records in the quality management system.
Stay current on advancements in NDT technology and techniques.
