Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Quality Inspector III or Senior Quality Inspector at its Pasadena, CA site to inspect and release hardware per engineering drawings and specs. You will perform receiving, in-process, first-article, and final inspections, and work with engineering and manufacturing to resolve discrepancies in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

The role requires 5+ years (III) or 8+ years (Senior) of mechanical inspection experience, PC-DMIS proficiency, and strong GD&T skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical inspection experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, precision manufacturing, or other high-reliability environments.
• Experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, indicators, and surface-plate inspection methods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precision machined parts, fabricated hardware, purchased components, and assemblies against drawings and specs.
• Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect complex parts and verify GD&T.
• Perform receiving, in-process, first-article, and final inspections; document results and issue tickets.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Review supplier inspection reports and certifications; ensure conformance.
• Document inspection results in quality systems and ERP/MES; support root-cause investigations.
