Job summary

Metis Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to join our team at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA, to build and support a cutting-edge platform for air traffic management simulation and research. The role requires 5-7 years of software engineering experience, strong Java, algorithms, data structures, and cloud/DevOps capabilities.

Qualifications

5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering, DevOps, software operations, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related field.
At least 8 years of experience developing complex, scalable applications in Java and/or an OO language.
Demonstrated proficiency in algorithm design.
Deep knowledge of data structures and data analysis.
Strong commitment to clean, scalable, high-quality code and continuous learning.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse technical teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, automate, secure, and maintain infrastructure for building, testing, deploying, and operating project software.
Collaborate with software developers, data engineers, system admins, researchers, and other staff.
Analyze operational issues and troubleshoot across complex software systems.
Contribute to documentation and best practices to improve software quality and reliability.
