MAXAR TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is seeking an Aerospace Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer in Herndon, VA. This hands-on role focuses on developing software tools for advanced modeling, simulation, data processing, and visualization of space, airborne, and ISR sensor systems.

You will work with aerospace engineers to translate mission needs into software solutions, enhance simulators, and improve workflow efficiency while adhering to modern software engineering practices.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 5 years of software development experience in modeling, simulation, data analysis, or mission analysis.
• Experience with Python, C++, Java, C#, MATLAB, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with aerospace systems, space systems, airborne systems, ISR missions, sensors, or simulation environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software tools for aerospace modeling, simulation, mission analysis, and data visualization.
• Add features to high-fidelity physics-based simulators used to evaluate space, airborne, and ISR sensor systems.
• Design modular, maintainable software architectures enabling new features and reusable analysis workflows.
• Develop scripts, APIs, and data pipelines for scenario generation, simulation execution, post-processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Translate mission needs and objectives into software requirements; collaborate with engineers and customers.
