Job summary

Leonardo S.p.A. in Philadelphia seeks an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the aircraft production lifecycle from work order analysis to final delivery.

You will coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Program Management, Design, and Quality to optimize the build cycle and address issues across departments. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, strong communication, and the ability to drive improvements in tooling, sequencing, and production layout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of aerospace industry experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FAA certification requirements; EASA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Work Orders to ensure aircraft configurations are planned and manage cost to build via Make/Buy decisions.
• Establish five-year BOM and production planning.
• Define manufacturing capability and coordinate production layout with Industrial Engineering.
• Manage internal and external suppliers to meet master schedule expectations.
• Validate inputs from design/programs to create/maintain work instructions.
• Resolve design conflicts between multiple holders and provide feedback.
• Formulate and implement aircraft build sequences tailored to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure understanding of as-built plans and work instructions.
• Design cable harnesses and cable layouts across product lines.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to the workflow.
