Job summary

RTX is offering a full-time co-op program in Rockford, IL, focusing on test equipment and mechanical systems for aerospace applications. Interns will work Monday–Friday in a full-time co-op session, gaining hands-on experience in fluid dynamics, equipment design, and project estimation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and enrolled through internship/co-op session.
• Minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
• Familiarity with data acquisition and control hardware/software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document fluid schematics to construct, relocate, and install test stands, equipment, and facilities infrastructure.
• Contribute to teams designing mechanical test equipment and systems for power generation and distribution products.
• Participate in peer reviews of specifications, designs, and concepts for test equipment and systems.
• Track orders, costs, and due dates to update budgets and spending profiles.
• Coordinate/participate in project status reviews with team and stakeholders.
• Work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Support test equipment estimation activities including test stand/equipment costs and schedules.
• Develop performance, design, calibration, and maintenance requirements for test stands.
