Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in San Diego, CA is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer for a six-week onsite assignment. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background and experience supporting aircraft environmental testing, fixtures, and test documentation.

You will design fixtures, assist with test setup and troubleshooting, and produce detailed procedures and reports to support testing activities. Collaboration with engineering teams will drive issue resolution and documentation accuracy

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical testing, test fixtures, or engineering test environments.
• Ability to develop and document test procedures and test reports.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for aircraft environmental testing activities.
• Design and develop test fixtures and associated mechanical hardware for environmental testing.
• Support setup, execution, and troubleshooting of aircraft and component-level tests.
• Develop clear and detailed test procedures based on requirements and objectives.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports documenting setup, methodology, results, observations, and conclusions.
• Collaborate with engineering and testing teams to identify and resolve mechanical or test-related issues.
• Review test requirements and ensure fixtures meet engineering specifications.
• Assist with modifications and improvements to fixtures and procedures as testing progresses.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout testing.
• Support other mechanical engineering activities related to aircraft testing and development.
