Job summary

RTX in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering co‑op to gain hands‑on experience in manufacturing engineering methods. You will work with the Process Center IPT to learn about Surface Mount Technology and Through Hole processes, measuring, analyzing, and improving these methods.

The role provides exposure to lean principles, time studies, layout planning, and cost‑benefit analyses while collaborating with IEs and Production Managers to drive productivity and quality

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, enrolled through the co‑op session.
• Must have at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship/co‑op session.
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident ("Green Card" holder).

Responsibilities

• Provide production floor support for manufacturing processes.
• Assist in process‑related projects including verification and validation of process equipment.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, and development of standard work.
• Collaborate with Industrial Engineers and Production Managers to identify and fix inefficiencies.
