Hermeus is seeking a Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineer to join the structural design team in Los Angeles. You will own hardware development from concept through design, fabrication, integration, and test, supporting subsystems like hydraulics, fuel, propulsion, and avionics.

You will perform hand calculations and FEA, travel up to 25%, and collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to ensure producible, high-performance systems.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics.
• 1+ years of electromechanical design, analysis, and testing (internships and student projects qualify).

Aufgaben

• Structural design supporting vehicle subsystems such as hydraulics, fuel systems, propulsion, and avionics.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses using hand calculations and FEA.
• Lead trade studies across mechanical, fluid, and avionics subsystems with emphasis on mass, cost, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to ensure designs are producible and aligned with objectives.
• Own hardware development from concept through design, fabrication, integration, and test.
• Present technical content in internal reviews and design reviews with suppliers/customers.
