Job summary

Hermeus Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanisms Engineer to join the Vehicle & Mechanisms Team in Los Angeles. You will lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for fast aircraft programs.

We require a minimum of 5 years in mechanisms engineering, preferably in aerospace, with strong CAD and FEA skills. Expect cross-functional collaboration, prototyping, testing, and supplier interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanisms engineering, preferably in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, mechanisms, and components for aerospace applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
• Conduct detailed mechanical analysis, including stress analysis, fatigue, and kinematics.
• Utilize simulation and modeling tools to optimize and refine designs.
• Oversee prototyping and testing of mechanical systems to verify performance and reliability.
• Plan and execute tests, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes considering performance, cost, and sustainability.
• Maintain documentation of design specifications, test results, and performance data.
• Generate reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with junior engineers and provide mentorship within the team.
• Stay current with industry advancements and contribute to R&D efforts.
