Job summary

Sceye, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion to design, prototype, and assemble mechanical systems for high-altitude platform technologies.

The role emphasizes hands-on CAD work, hardware interaction, and moving designs from concept to physical parts. The candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with brackets, fasteners, bearings, spacers, and structural hardware, and proficiency in SolidWorks, drawings, and BOMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant mechanical design experience; internships or co-ops may be considered.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and creating 3D models and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components, brackets, fixtures, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Create and revise 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and supporting documentation.
  • Assemble mechanical components from BOMs and drawings.
  • Select appropriate mechanical hardware (bolts, nuts, spacers, bearings, etc.).
  • Perform fit checks and tolerance reviews to ensure proper assembly and function.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to improve manufacturability.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering changes, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
  • Maintain CAD files, drawing revisions, and BOMs.
