Job summary

Astro Mechanica is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to own hardware design from concept to production, impacting airframe integration and demonstrator performance.

You will collaborate across propulsion, structures, avionics, and manufacturing, lead trade studies, validate designs with analyses, and support prototyping and flight tests in a fast-moving aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 2–5+ years experience designing, integrating, or testing mechanical or fluid systems.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform trade studies and first-order analyses to inform component design and system architecture decisions.
• Complete detailed component designs and drawings; validate designs with structural, thermal, or fluid analyses.
• Collaborate with propulsion, structures, avionics, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration.
