Job summary

Raytheon offers a Mechanical Engineer Intern position in Tewksbury, MA, supporting the Hardware Engineering Team within CPR. You will help derive and verify hardware requirements, coordinate between systems and hardware, and contribute to design-to-cost and production-readiness activities for naval and defense programs.

Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or advanced Mechanical Engineering program with at least 60 credit hours, and be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and be actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written).

Responsibilities

• Flow down, allocation and derivation of electrical and mechanical hardware requirements that reflect system level requirements.
• Verification planning and artifact generation for electrical and mechanical hardware requirements.
• Determine gaps for existing/non-developed hardware against requirements.
• Apply Design to Cost best practices on development programs.
• Training and application of RTX tools including PTC Windchill PDM and IBM DOORS.
• Collaboration with coworkers and multi-discipline teams.
• Training in Raytheon processes and procedures.
