Job summary

KIHOMAC in Layton, UT is seeking an engineer to perform technical analysis, design tooling for aerospace parts, and create ASME-compliant drawings from 3D models. You will reverse engineer parts, manage procurement and fabrication, and coordinate projects to meet cost and schedule targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in an engineering discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience. Preference given to those with composites design and additive manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area.
• Experience reading and interpreting government 2D drawings.
• Designing tooling to manufacture, repair, and assemble aircraft parts and products.
• Composite manufacturing design preferred.
• Additive manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with NX and/or SolidWorks modeling of complex aerospace parts preferred.
• Experience with tooling and fixture design, structural analysis, environmental systems or test a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis for designated task areas with limited variable investigation.
• Recommend technical alternatives and design/selection adaptations.
• Research materials per strength/tooling requirements.
• Create drawings from 3D Models per ASME standards.
• Reverse engineer parts using inspection tools to correct drawings.
• Manage projects and coordinate procurement and fabrication to meet cost/schedule.
