Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its aerospace & hydraulics-focused team in Bethpage, NY. You will own mechanical designs from concept through testing and production, with hands-on involvement in hydraulic and fuel system components for aerospace applications.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of design experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customers to deliver robust

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience.
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
Experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Product Development: from customer requirements to production release.
Create detailed drawings, models, and data packages.
Perform tolerance stack‑up, structural, hydraulic, and dynamic analyses.
Develop qualification test plans and oversee testing activities.
Collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to validate performance.
