Whippany Actuation Systems is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design from concept to detailed development for aerospace actuation products. You will work on gear arrangements, seal integrity, load paths, and EMI considerations while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years in a high-tech environment, and proficiency with CREO, CAD, and MS Office. U.S.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years' engineering experience in a high technology manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record solving complex problems with minimal supervision.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience using CREO and CAD.
• Proficiency with MS Suite.
• Authorization to work in the US.

Aufgaben

• Create product designs to endure aerospace environments including high vibration, temperature variations, fluid and other contaminant exposures.
• Develop stress analyses such as gear bending and fatigue, bearing life, FEA, and other dynamic and static analyses.
• Optimize designs by using CAD modeling, stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups and manufacturing considerations.
• Design assemblies and components including gears/splines, environmental or EMI sealing, load paths, fasteners, springs, electronics integration, packaging.
• Review project requirements to understand design constraints.
• Work with cross-functional teams and customers to meet requirements.
