Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to join our aerospace-focused team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The role involves creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for gas turbine engine components and power generation systems, and supporting both legacy and next-generation platforms.

You will use GD&T, interpret drawings, and manage changes in Teamcenter while collaborating with project managers to meet milestones and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design utilizing CAD software.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of drawing interpretation.
• Experience with fabrication processes: casting, machining, sheet metal, tooling, welding and brazing.
• Candidate must be a U.S. person (citizenship/residency).
• Travel up to 25% may be expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of complex components for aerospace gas turbine engines and power generation systems.
• Support legacy aerospace platforms and next-generation military and commercial platforms.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings; track drawing changes in Teamcenter.
• Prepare and deliver design reviews for internal and external audiences.
• Document work for internal records and regulatory/customer consumption.
• Interact with project managers and analytical teams to meet deliverables.
