Karman Space & Defense in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Design Engineer to join our full-time team. You will lead mechanical design efforts for aerospace structures, create 2D layouts and 3D models, perform analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver producible hardware.

The role requires a bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 2–5 years in aerospace/defense, and proficiency with SolidWorks and GD&T. A master's degree is preferred; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of aerospace/defense engineering experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and GD&T.
• Knowledge of military and commercial design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supports mechanical design for aerospace structures and mechanisms.
• Creates 2-D layouts and 3-D solid models.
• Performs basic mechanical analyses to validate designs.
• Assists in system-level design and documentation.
• Collaborates with manufacturing and procurement teams.
• Mentors junior engineers and supports program goals.
