Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation in Georgia seeks a Mechanical Components Engineer Staff for the Components Engineering team within the Parts Materials and Processes Engineering department. You will provide mechanical standard parts expertise and support fasteners, bearings, and fittings to Aeronautics programs, enabling design, production, and sustainment across multiple business lines.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years in military aircraft/mechanical systems, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience working with military aircraft, mechanical systems and component part selection.
• Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting conceptual and layout design phases with standard parts expertise.
• Promoting product quality through qualification of suppliers, maintenance of authorized supplier list, and coordination with quality department on standard part quality issues.
• Mitigating part procurement schedule impacts through vendor coordination, technical inputs, alternate suppliers, action request resolution, and substitution documentation.
• Supporting production through investigation and resolution of standard part related issues impacting manufacturing while maintaining awareness of the technical and business state-of-affairs for standard part industries.
• Maintaining standard parts tools for quick identification and selection of standard parts and ensuring standardization across LockheedMartin and suppliers.
