Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, manufacture, procurement and test of structure and propulsion components within the Structures and Propulsion organization.

The role involves coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities and related disciplines, performing trade studies, and maintaining drawings, specifications and analyses for complex aerospace systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of Mechanical / Propulsion Engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, propulsion systems and/or materials.
• Progressive experience in the design, development, and/or integration of complex aerospace or defense systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance - must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support design, manufacture, procurement and test for structure and propulsion components and assemblies.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and related disciplines including manufacturing, quality and systems engineering.
• Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution.
• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications and analyses to support systems and components.
• Work on a multi-disciplinary team performing design trades and performance assessments of operational systems.
• Provide data packages and documentation to support peer and customer reviews.
