Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Engineering leader to direct a small technical team across research, design, development, and testing of aerospace hardware components and systems.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lead in a dynamic environment, and eligibility for a security clearance (US citizenship). You will collaborate with stakeholders and senior leadership to sustain engineering capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experienced in leading a small technical team, in a collaborative environment with strong communication.
• Ability to be largely autonomous in a dynamic environment with complex challenges.
• Experience applying basic Mechanical Engineering principles in design, production, test and integration.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance; US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs a team of engineers in researching, designing, and developing components and systems of varying complexity.
• Leads integrated product teams and coordinates with leaders, engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the lifecycle.
• Plans staffing, job assignments, and rotations to sustain capabilities and skills; ensures processes, tools, and training are in place.
• Supports business strategy and capture efforts with proposal support and risk management.
• Occasional travel may be required.
