Job summary

US Air Force, Aircraft Maintenance Group at Tinker AFB, seeks a Level II UT Technician skilled in MAUS to perform advanced ultrasonic inspections on aircraft structures and composites.

You will analyze MAUS data, interpret drawings, and document findings to ensure flight safety and readiness, with calibration and procedure development responsibilities. Active SECRET clearance or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Level II Ultrasonic Testing certification per NAS 410 or military standard.
• Experience operating MAUS equipment in aerospace applications.
• Ability to interpret scan data and apply acceptance criteria.
• Familiarity with aircraft structures and composite behavior under stress.
• Strong reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level II UT inspections using MAUS on aircraft components and composites.
• Analyze MAUS data to identify subsurface defects, delaminations, corrosion, and material degradation.
• Interpret technical data, drawings, and procedures to ensure reliable results.
• Document findings and generate detailed reports, maintaining DoD/USAF compliance records.
• Interface with QA and maintenance personnel to ensure inspection continuity and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment readiness and perform calibrations per standards and manufacturer guidance.
• Assist in developing or refining MAUS scanning procedures and techniques.
• Support other NDI methods as qualified (e.g., eddy current, dye penetrant, magnetic particle, x-ray).
• Adhere to safety, hazardous materials, and environmental guidelines; participate in refresher training.
