Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Pueblo, Colorado seeks a Program Engineer II to manage manufacturing-related processes for carbon-carbon brakes used in aerospace applications and to qualify new technology into production. This role provides hands-on leadership to identify sources of process and product variation while driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate collaborates with staff from production floor to senior leadership to ensure quality standards and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Typical minimum: STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience as a chemical, process, or product engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with plant and engineering staff to identify tool-related problems.
  • Designs and plans equipment layouts to optimize processes.
  • Ongoing production monitoring and troubleshooting for aircraft programs.
  • Performs laboratory studies and pilot-scale testing of new processes.
  • Determines methods for fabricating and joining materials for engineering designs.
  • Monitors material performance and evaluates deterioration to meet specs.
  • Designs, develops and tests metallic and non-metallic structures or materials.
