Job summary

Visioneering is seeking a Material Estimator to develop accurate material cost estimates for RFQ responses and proposals. You will analyze BOMs, CAD models, drawings, and other technical data to determine material types and quantities, and you will enter costs in material documents.

Daily work involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with OSHA and ITAR, and contributing to cost effectiveness while maintaining quality in a climate-controlled aerospace manufacturing

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret BOMs, CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how material size, type, and machining requirements impact cost.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience in a related position.
• Basic CATIA V5 experience or experience with another CAD system preferred.
• Blueprint reading experience preferred; training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the material content for every component contained within the RFQ.
• Enter costs within specified material & commercial item documents.
• Maintain knowledge of the material supplier and sub-tier supplier market.
• Interact with supply base.
• Contribute to corporate quality policy and objectives.
• Measure modeled components.
• Order material off of the BOM or from CAD Model and add stock where required for machining.
• Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
