Job summary

RTX is seeking a Material Control Lab (MCL) Engineer at the Asheville, NC site to support development and qualification of new processes, ensuring delivery and quality targets. The role involves metallurgical evaluations, hands-on technical work, and collaboration with production, engineering, and MCL teams.

You will participate in root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and documentation of lab results.

Qualifications

• BS Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field
• OR an Associate's degree with 4+ years of related experience
• OR a High School Diploma/ GED and 6+ years of related experience
• US citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallographic evaluation and documentation of various processes including advance aluminides coating, EDM, Weld, braze, grinding used in blade and vanes airfoils
• Provide clear, concise and accurate lab reports
• Maintain records, mounts and sample residue retention
• Monitor testing frequency of all processes
• Develop cut up and evaluation sheet for all tested parts
• Perform annual ESA/MCL audit and five years MCL Source Qualification surveys
• Interacts with other functional groups on routine technical matters
• Investigation of various parts and process related problems
